How exciting! Unfortunately a little too late for me as I got married a few weeks ago, but I’m so pleased the other Aussie bees will have somewhere to hang out. So much better than any of the Aussie sites available! I’m a Canberra girl who got married in the Snowy Mountains, happy to give advice on either location if people are interested as I’m not sure I’m ready to give up Weddingbee just yet.

Hi Aussies,

Pretty obvious im from Sydney.

Not engaged yet, concentrating on buying a place at the moment – because we cant afford to buy a home in Sydney AND get married – ha ha

I agree about the blogger, just wish i was engaged so i could apply!!!

Is there just the 6 of us? I think Eloping is Aussie too, but not sure about who else?

Hey everyone πŸ™‚ I’ve only jut joined up but I am an Aussie too!

I’m from WA and am planning an April 2010 wedding. We aren’t officially engaged yet but have already started planning a wedding. We have been together for 5 and a half years so yeah, a long long time! So nice to see other Aussies here. Everything seems so much harder to organise for us because in terms of weddings, Aus is definitely wayyyyyyyy behind the eight ball!

Hello fellow Aussies!

Thanks for the shout out ccranetobe! I’m blushing, lol.

I’m not engaged yet, just living with the boy, and saving up for a ring together. I’m from Melbourne, and I live right near the legendary Chadstone shopping centre, which has been awesome for ring shopping, as there are like 50 jewellers including a tiffany’s! (now if only we had a spare $14,000 for that solitaire in yellow gold..)

I’m so glad there is an aussie board, does anyone else get a bit weirded out by some of the things the american bee’s talk about? Weddings over there seem to be super etiquette based. However they have some fantastic ideas that I can wait to use one day.

Does anyone know how you go about being a Bee? Is there some sort of application process? I’d love to be an Aussie bee. πŸ™‚

Yeah, there are particular requirements to becoming a bee – you can only apply if your wedding is (I think it’s) 8 months out, you blog anyway somewhere else – like blogger or whatever, and you commit to blogging 2-3 times a week. I’d SOOO love to apply! LOL Still 9 months and 19 days out though! It would be awesome to have an Aussie bee though!

@ccranetobe

I am so excited to not only see other aussies, but other West Aussies! And you’re from Albany…yay to Albany. Half of my boy’s family are in Albany so it’s a place near and dear (especially in summer when it’s way to friggin hot to be in Perth!)

Not only has Australia lost the 8 ball, WA seems to never have had an 8 ball to begin with!

@ Roux

That would be so awesome to have an Aussie Bee Blogger. It’s about time we have some representation!

@Crane – Too funny! I was born in Perth, then moved to Sydney, and I used to live in Waverton (one suburb away from Crows Nest!) We just bought a place, so we moved! Not too far though!!

@Roux – I SO want to be a blogger, but i just dont think i have the writing flair… Im a scientist you see… us nerdy folk cant really grasp the creative flair without it being confined to “Aim, Method, Results, Discussion”!!
