It’s really hard to decide without seeing them on you.  I’m also a petite 5’3″ and some of the ball gown type dresses that I tried on swallowed me up.  I also found that the waist was the wrong height.  Apparently I have a shorter torso, so the top of the skirt (at the waistline) was far too low on my body with most dresses.

I think it really depends on whether you feel the budget is more important than the designer – if you think you’d be upset if there was a slight difference with a replica then buying the real thing is probably best.

If you go down the replica route, definitely go to a shop and try different styles on in shops that are the same/similar to the photos on here, which will give you a good idea on what does/doesn’t suit you. Some things look gorgeous in pictures or on the hanger but when you try them on it’s a different story – the same goes for clothes that don’t look good until you try them on! Good luck, and enjoy your hunt for the perfect dress whichever route you decide!

Personally I think everything about weddings has become rediculiously over priced. if you have the budget to buy an origional I guess I would say go for it. Is anyone other than you going to know that it isn’t an origional? Probably not. Will 99% of guests and family even know what style or designer you are talking about? nope.

that being said I am not aware of Dressillyme’s labor standards, (nor am I aware of the standards for many label designers) I would go with what fits your budget and doesn’t harm anyone in the process.

I ordered from DressilyMe on 11/30 and it arrived on 12/21. I couldn’t be happier with the dress, the measurements I sent them they followed to the letter and size was spot-on, quality is amazing. In short, I paid $134 including shipping and custom size (got it on sale) for a dress that would have easily cost me $1000+ at a bridal salon. It’s a no-brainer for me. If you search this forum you can see many examples of happy brides who have used China dressmakers. Good luck!

Hey girl, I’m also very petite, and dresses with sweetheart necklines mostly didn’t look good on me — I just couldn’t fill up the top! I would say, like others said, that you should make sure to try on any dress before you order it. See if you can try it on at a store, and then decide if you want to order it online or order a replica. Good luck!
