October 2015 bride here (eeks!!). We’re aiming for October 17th, 2015 and all the venues we’ve looked at so far are open for that date.
We’re hardcore venue shopping and the 3 we’ve found so far and liked within our budget are SOOOOO different from each other so that’s puzzling 🙂
Venue #1: Elegant Golf Course (on Pueblo land at a Casino) right at the foot of the mountains (outdoor ceremony, indoor reception)
Venue #2: Out of town a bit, totally southwestern pueblo classic New Mexico adobe complex. Mostly/Outdoor space, CHEAP, but very DIY (you have to clean after you’re done AND take all trash!)
Venue #3: Rooftop location downtown with gorgeous views of the city and mountains BUT an outdoor location so totally exposed. (Oct is typically gorgeous weather wise in Albuquerque though).
Ahhhh. The choices.

TunaCat29: We booked the Rooftop! When we originally saw it, my fiance was convinced it was out of our price range and when we got the pricing, it fit in our budget and we were both sold 🙂 Here are a few pics. We’re going to do cafe lighting all the way around the roof (not just the few places it is right now) and do LED candles on the tables for extra lighting!
The View (looking towards the mountains down Central Ave/Route 66):
Part of the roof (currently only partially lit up)

That is our date too! We are going to book the venue and chapel this weekend. Might as well get it out of the way.

We are also getting married October 3 2015 and within a week of our engagement we had our venue booked for ceremony and reception and within a month our photographer. My cousin is in the wedding business and very popular in our area and told me to book as soon as you can, so I was all over it! ha! We also recently decided to rent the inn on property (really just a four bedroom farmhouse), but we still need to place a deposit on that and we have our colours picked and bridal party picked and the engagement photos were done last month. Next up: dress shopping. I picked a dress shopping date as close to the wedding date as possible…exactly 363 days from the wedding! I’m pretty excited! I am starting to panic a little about hair and make up people though…I’m so particular and I want to book soon but everything in my area is $200 per person for hair and make up on location! eek! It just seems so expensive to me…I was hoping for around $100-$150 a person. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s progress, ladies!
