OMG your colors (the burnt orange and brown, but not the mossy camo) would be our colors – sweet! I have a ton of photos I’ve saved up, mostily from the knot.. let me try to upload them. (I don’t have sources for all of these photos, but I’m sure I found them either through The Knot or through Google Image search – they’re not my personal photos.)

(P.S., I’ve seen a wedding (a friend’s wedding – unfortunatley I don’t have pics to share) where they used camo accents – it looked super cute and was a great way to include the couple’s love for hunting in their wedding.)

I think with this wedding I saw (I believe it was a member or the man’s family? Not sure)… The ladies wore solid mossy green bm dresses (brown wasn’t one of their colors – i think it was just green/camo) and the men wore camo vests under their tuxes. So it was a little touch for the men basically, and the ladies coordinated.

I saw a pic in one of the Colombian bridal mags that had a cake topped with fondant maple leaves fitted to the cake.  That cake had all white leaves, but a fall theme.  Maybe you could have fondant maple leaves in a different color on every tier? Brown then orange then white?  I’ll try to find a pic for you!

another interesting dress idea – again, sounds like this is a little much for you given that you said camo’s an accent color.

Here’s a camou vest… this is what I was trying to describe before (i think the groomsmen had plain ties though).

I just posted a bunch more links, but I assume the post got caught in the spam filter. Hopefully it’ll show up shortly!

Edit: Ah, it’s there now.

Ok, here are two that I think meet your criteria, and aren’t cheesy:

I didn’t notice that fondant had a taste…it certainly wasn’t gross.

Myself, I’m having my cake iced with buttercream icing.

About the fondant taste, yes it does not taste good. It seperates from the cake and so you have this thin layer of icing and then cake. And most servers hate cutting it because its hard to do. I love the look of it but when I tried to eat it I said no way I’m paying tons of money for a cake that no one will eat.  There are some bakers out there though that can acheive the look of fondant but with a better taste. This is a link to baker that does that .http://www.masonsbakery.com/

@Amanda_V – COOL! I like the white with the camo accent underneath! It’s really neat for an accent color.  It’d probably look cool with the vests too if your groomsmen got them. I don’t think I’d quite go for the all-out camo dress with the orange laced back though  – that’s a little too much!

Ours was a very simple square layered cake with brown ribbon along the bottom of each tier. Our colors were green and brown with fall color accents here and there, so there are small green accents along the bottom of each ribbon and then I had two cala lilies placed on top that were the same color used in my bouquet.

While yes, fondant makes a very smooth look, I am not a big fan of it. It seems like a thick crust of sugar to me. We went with a white cake with raspberry filling and buttercream frosting for ours and it was fabulous!
