It might be worth hiring a wedding planner for a 2 hour conversation and send her a list of questions before hand so she can have her recommendations.

Trials are usually nearly as expensive as the actual day of and in NYC most everything will be pricey.

Be sure you have a plan B in case it rains in September, which it does often.

Town cars are easy. Use any service in NYC. There are a ton!

Good luck.

Hi! I’m a UK bride getting married in NY too. Congrats!

Have you been there before? We originally thought that we’d like to get married in Central Park, but were put off by the large number of brides that were constantly wandering around at any one time. Just a thought.

I’d be happy to recommend my photographer, but perhaps I should wait until after the wedding! I’ve had a few hair and makeup trials, and ended up going with someone ridiculously expensive as I really wasn’t happy with the others. I have booked someone for my maids if you are after a cheaper option. (Bear in mind though that everything seems to cost loads more in nyc!)

Feel free to PM me if you need details.

For dinner afterwards, I would look at Jean-Georges (which is right by the park) or Eleven Madison Park, or any of the restaurants in the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle.

Most high end NYC restaurants only accept bookings a month or two out unless you’re arranging an event in a private room. It’s always worth a call to see if they’ll make an exception, though I doubt any of them even have reservation books open yet for fall of next year.

Good luck! I hope you have a great visit here and a wonderful wedding!
