We are planning an autumn barn wedding also (undecided on date but will be late september or early October)! Although we do plan on having small floral arrangements throughout the venue, we are using clear glass oil lamps for our primary centerpieces. They fit with the barn atmosphere without looking too rustic/country. This is my inspiration for table layout and centerpieces.

The garland on the short centrepiece idea won’t say you much money when compared to floral centrepieces. I think the tall one could look great. If you’re worried about it being underwhelming, use three vases like that of varying heights instead of just one in the middle.

This is a mockup of what we’re doing for non-floral centrepieces at our September wedding. We’ll also be scattering rose petals on and around the mirrors. The bottles either came from us or friends and family, so they were free, and we cut them with a bottle cutter. There are about 100 cut bottles living at my parents’ house right now.

iDreamofChocolate:  I’m not super creative but I am sure you can begin gathering fall items mid-August.  I would get the tall vases at the dollar store (I’ve seen them at Dollar Tree for $1.25 each) and miniature pumpkins would be bought there too (and you can probably spray paint them with your wedding colours as well).  Hope this helps?

Our wedding was in the Fall. We had long family style tables with cream tablecloths and a paper runner down the middle. We DIY’d our own flowers and scattered the tables with cut cedar from my parent’s house. We kept it very simple as our venue was really old and unique. I just wish we cut the flower down to fit in the vases a little better.

Im thinking of using tree stumps (craft stores have them. Trees probably have them too but I don’t know how to get those haha). Also, lanterns. You can turn them into terrariums with candles or greenery inside!

iDreamofChocolate:  It’s not for everyone, but we are filling the airspace between our tables and the vaulted ceiling by having foil balloons for table numbers. Just an idea…

We glued moss to cardboard, arranged succulents, rocks/stones (from my husbands collection) & added a few owl figurines i had, topped with a glass bell-thing or inside apocothary jars. These are two without any owl figurines

iDreamofChocolate:  We usually scour local flea markets and antique stores! In our area, you can usually find them for as little as $10 each for the larger ones and around $5 for the smaller sized ones. We are mainly focusing on the larger size but you can actually buy medium sized replicas though walmart (that is going to be our backup if for whatever reason we need any last minute). We plan to give some to bridal party members after the wedding.

This is my inspiration picture. I’ll probably put a candle or fake candle inside the lantern as well.
