I looked this topic up out of curiosity and saw that this has already been done but they were all over a year old.
How many hours of sleep so you get per night during the work week? I aim for 8 but by the time I get settled into bed I usually end up with about 7-7.5 hours. On the weekends I can easily sleep 10 hours if I don’t set an alarm (but then I usually end up feeling tired because I got too much sleep).
So how many hours of sleep do you get (on average)? Do you feel refreshed? Do you try to keep the same bed time and wake up time on the weekends? Do you have a set work/schedule? Or do you have varying shifts?

I get 7-9 hours. We go to bed at the same time every night give or take an hour and try to keep a similar sleep schedule on weekends. We don’t set alarms on weekend to wake up, but always end up waking up around 7 anyways. Usually, I feel pretty good and refreshed when I wake up, but since I’m pregnant now, I’m constantly exhausted no matter how much I sleep.

@MrsBeck: I have a set work schedule, and usually get around 9-10 hours of sleep. I’m in bed around 11pm and get up at 8:30am. Sometimes I think I get too much sleep and instead of feeling refreshed, I wake up feeling tired.

About 7 hours on weeknights, maybe 8 on the weekends. I don’t sleep in past 8am ever but I hardly ever stay up past midnight. Weeknights it’s about 10pm-5:30am and weekends maybe 11pm-6 or 7am. I don’t ever nap unless I’m sick!

I wouldn’t say that I feel refreshed, I usually want to stay in bed!
But by the time I get to work and then have my coffee ( I drink about 12 oz a day) I’m fine.
I’m never exhausted throughout the day or night. I usually start getting sleepy between 10:30 and 11pm.
On the weekends it depends on the seasons. I generally have to get up early on Saturday mornings (7ish) in the summer because that’s the only time I can do long runs before it gets hot. When the weather is cooler I will sleep maybe 8-9 hours or so on the weekend.

7-8, depending on how well I sleep. On work nights, I’m in bed by 9, read for ~1 hour, lights out at 10, up at 6.

I do the same thing! I put myself in bed early then read for an hour and then lights out. It’s so relaxing!

I try for 8, but end up sleeping about 7 hours a night. Weekends are a different ball game. SO and I make it a point to not get out of bed unless necessary…once the babies start coming, we won’t have that luxury!

I love my sleep, 10 hours is ideal, usually its 8-9.. my body knows when its 10 o clock bedtime and pretty much shuts down so I’m too tired to focus on anything – I get up with DH to get him off to work in the morning and if I’ve gone to bed late its a struggle

6-7 on average for weeknights. I have trouble falling asleep very early, so then the 5:00 AM alarm comes far too quickly!

I get anywhere between 7-10, I’d say. I work retail though & my schedule is different everyday! This week for example: M: 5am-1:30pm, T: Off, W: 2pm-10:30pm, Th: Off, F: 5am-1:30pm, S: 9:30am-6pm, & Su: 6am-2:30pm. I usually get similar shifts as those just two different days off every week. It’s hard to be on a true sleep “schedule,” but I thoroughly enjoy my sleep & kind of need 8ish hours to not be too sleepy or grumpy so I make do!

I usually get 6-7, which is not enough, but the little kid in me who fought bedtime never grew up. 😛 I’ve been doing terribly for the past two weeks though, averaging between 5-6 hours on week days. I feel like crap. >.<
I find that I feel best & wake up naturally when I get about 9 hours.

I consider myself a “sleeper”. I shoot for at least 8 hrs a night, if I don’t them I am exhausted and need caffiene the next morning. My DH is not a sleeper. He can go on way less sleep than me, however he usually ends up crashing one night, like literally asleep on the couch at 630 pm to catch up on the sleep he is missing. On the weekends I’ll sleep in until I feel guilty, like 9-10 but DH is up between 6-7.

Before the wedding I was only getting 6 hours (I woke up at 4am to go running)
But now I get between 8 and 9 hours!

about 7-8. I’m usually in bed by 10.30pm/11pm and I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. If I’m not asleep in 5-15 minutes, I consider it ‘a rough night’ hahaha.
I’m awake then at 6.30am 🙂
