I was just wondering what kinds of prices everyone paid for their cake to be delivered. We were given a sample contract by a bakery stating that they charge $65-85 depending on distance. My mom thought it was high but to tell you the truth, I have no idea if it’s high. The wedding is in Charleston where things seemed to be priced higher than our hometown anyway. So about how much does it normally cost?

In NE, ours was only $30, but she is only going 2 miles. Worth it to me not to have to worry about it getting there in one piece or setting it up.

@tksjewelry: That’s why I wanted it delivered. We’re getting cupcakes and a small cake but in my head I’d feel more assured if it was on them to get it there and delivered so it’d be fixed if something happened.

@tksjewelry: Yeah my fiance and his parents picked up the cake for his brother’s wedding from Walmart and I remember when they got back with it, part of the icing was smushed from the ride. And we had to put the cake together which did not help the icing.

In my area, most delivery costs that I have seen are $50-75, if that helps. I think it is worth getting the delivery – then you are not responsible if something goes wrong in transit and these people are used to transporting cakes. Plus, they will set it up for you and you have one less thing to stress about on the big day!

We got married an hour outside of Atlanta and I believe our delivery fee was $50 – they ended up waiving it for us since our venue was like 5 minutes from the store!

This is making me rethink my cost. They are charging $100 for delivery. 30 miles drive and that includes the set up of the cake table. Sounds simple but we are having 3 types of cakes and 3 types of pie .

They quoted us $25-30 dollars and they are driving a long ways, 3 cities away!

Ours was $50 in San Diego, CA. They had to travel about 15 miles. Don’t pick it up yourself, unless you want to be featured on Cake Wrecks. Even if they are overcharging by $10 or so, totally worth it. Drop in the bucket.

@ItWasntMe: Wow, that’s a steal. That wouldn’t even cover a decent hourly wage for that drive, let alone the gas, vehicle, insurance, etc. Way to get a deal!

Our delivery and setup charge is $35.00. They are driving about 12 miles each way.
