My fiance and I are planning on having our wedding reception with about 75 guests at Kinney Bungalow in August of 2018. I have contacted a few of their preferred caterers and some of the cheapest packages start at $65 pp. This would include food, linens, glassware, dinnerware, etc. Is this a fairly average/standard price?
To me, this seems pretty high, considering it doesn’t even include alcohol (bar packages begin at $15 pp). I am very new to this whole process though and am looking for some info on what the average catering prices are in Rhode Island!

Catering Bill=your first born.
Everything is expensive.

I’m doing everything separate, so maybe that’s why I’m saving money.
Food- $11/pp for buffet style
Linens- About $300 for the rentals
Dinnerware- $.45 each piece rental

- Wedding: September 2017 - Poppy Ridge Golf Course
Catering is expensive but that does seem a bit high since its just food and liquor isn’t included. But I don’t live there so maybe thats the norm for your area? I would contact a few caterers off the preferred list and compare. Thats if you’re able to choose your own caterer.

hahah you are so very right. I am starting to realize that everything wedding-related has at least a 50% markup.
that is a good idea. Thank you for the information!

$6000 for 75 ppl, food, drinks (I included the $15 + $65) linens, dishes, glassware etc is a pretty good deal.
Where in Rhody is your venue? What time of year? If it’s summer/fall you’ll pay top$. Winter/spring you’ll probably get a better deal

This is normal. Mine was 67 a person. That included the food( 3 course), linens, cake cutting fee, champagne toast, cheese and crackers and wedding cake.
