We’ve just starting looking into phtographers, and they seem to be $2500 and up for packages, and few offer to personalise. I’ve found one who charges by the hour with a list of inclusions and add ons, shes the only one I’ve arranged to meet to see her work.

Might sound like I’m being a bit fussy but everything is at the one location, and we’re eloping, and both of us are quite camera shy, so with 2 photographers buzzing around us to get the 500+ pics they promise over an 8 hour period…just not us. Even by the time we get ready (we’ll be just rooms apart) and have our ceremony and allow time for pics and travel, it’s going to be 3 hours max.

I wish more photographers would have the flexibility of by the hour. But like everything, add the word wedding and the price goes through the roof…..

Mine will be $1,000 because it’s a friend who is a professional. The company she works for usually starts at about $4,500.

Professionals whose work we like in the Seattle area seem to be $3500+ for 7 hours, single shooter (or double, but only when it’s a married couple), images but no album. If we had enough money to hire any photographer we wanted, we’d probably be in the 6=8k range, but we don’t have that kind of budget.
