I spent about $500 for my BFF’s wedding Costs included: dress, shoes, hair makeup, alterations, and bachelorette party as well as bridal shower. I thought that was a lot of money. I can’t imagine spending $2,000!

I have spent $100 and I have spent $1000. $1000 is where I draw the line.

I spent way over $1,000 in the last wedding I was in.  It didn’t really bother me, but I could afford it.  It was within the budget I set with the bride.

I feelIke my bridesmaids got off pretty cheap compared to most wedding and I still feel terrible that they have to spend ANY money!

Bridesmaida got to pick their own dresses in their own budget and something they like and wantes and hopefully would wear again, and some spent $34  and the most expensive was $99. they are getting to pick their own shoes and jewelry on their own budget or use things they areday own.

The hotel they are staying at for 2 night is $79 for a total of $158. It’s about an hour away for them so lets add $40 for gas and tolls. For a total of $198 for hotel and transportation. (Even if they a weren’t in the wedding they would spend that on gas so it’s not really a ‘bridesmaids’ expense)

They are not required to get hair and makeup done some are doing it themselves and just having one service done. Makeup is $45 and hair is $65.

Hotel includes breakfast, we are having a rehearsal dinner at a restaurant, providing lunch when we get ready and they have the wedding meal so they won’t have to spend any money on food.

none of them are contributing financially to my shower as my mother and Future Mother-In-Law are paying for it.

So outside of gifts which I’m not expecting what so ever they are spending $277-362

Not too change up the topic too much, but just being a guest at a wedding costs me $1000 when you add everything up.  I’ve had to fly to all the locations (averages out to around $600 for me and spouse), hotels for 2 nights ($200-400), rental car ($100), gift ($130+)… that alone puts us out at least $1000 everytime we attend a wedding! Not to mention some guests buy new outfits, get their nails done, etc. etc!

I have brides-men instead of maids, mainly because they’re my closest friends but it definitely helps that they don’t need hair and makeup.

I’m paying for their suits since I don’t think it’s fair of me to ask them to pay to be a part of my wedding.
