I am in the process of searching for a flourist. I was just wondering what is an average cost for bridesmaid bouquets? Real Flowers.
I have 7 bridesmaids and would like the flowers to look nice but I would rather spend more on my own bouquet and church decorations. The flourist I have met with are giving me an average price of $50 per bouquet. Does that sound right? Is there anyway I can get it to be less expensive, but still look decent. I know some people make their own bridesmaid flowers, but I am not creative or artistic at all so I would rather spend the money, then have to stress about that.
I was thinking maybe if I use a inexpensive flower it could cut the price down? Or I am just dreaming?

@candy08: Everywhere I’ve seen has given around that price or more. 🙁
That’s why I am going to try and attempt lantern bouquets.

$50 is good. Mine are $65, after talking her down from $75. And I’m getting roses, which everyone told me are affordable!

@candy08: every florist i talked to started at 75… so that is the average around me.. but that depends on where you live i guess. I got pretty basic flowers in my bm boquets but since florist i chose starts at 75 for bm bouquets.. i am paying 75 each
i would say 50 is a good deal!

Ours are around $50 (I can’t remember exactly) and its made entirely of garden roses. Its going to heavily depend on what types of flowers you’re getting. You could probably get it cheaper with less expensive flowers, like you said.

That sounds about right. Mine are going to be $50 each for roses, dahlias, and some filler stuff.

How small is too small? The answer is that you defianately can get the price down and still look decent by some standards. The question is what are your standards.
I would ask your florist for suggestions. Usually there are adjustments that can be made to lower the price. The trick is figuring out what is too little and making sure you don’t go there.

@candy08: my girls carried pink peonies, the florist charged $50 per bouquet.

@trixiesrockets: Wow, that is very affordable for peonys!

Mine were mid size for $75. It was $65 for smaller and $85 for larger. They were yellow calla lilies.

@candy08: You could also ask to have less flowers. I haven’t gotten there yet but I’m hoping to do that… I’m just going to ask for a bundle of 4-5 tiger lilies for each bridesmaid, nothing too fancy. Hopefully that will fly! I am going to be buying 8 boutennieres and a few corsages for groomsmen and parents and something like 20 centerpieces, so it’s not like I’ll be wasting the florist’s time, but I would be happy to save $100-200, I’m not the most lavish person. Does anyone know if a florist will be willing to do that? It is my wedding and I want a simple look.

@Kat: The florist I choose had just retired from a shop and was doing her own business on the side for fun/extra money. I think it cut out of the extra costs and mark up that bigger businesses charge. 🙂 My bouquest was white and pink peonies and was 100.

@trixiesrockets: That sounds so pretty! 🙂 You got a great deal too!

I made my own Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets. They were $15 each!
I literally got 2 dozen roses, got rid of the leaves, and hand-tied them with rubber bands! They took less than 10 minutes each.
