I spoke to a florist yesterday, who put together a package for me:
* five bouquets (mine, 4 BM) made of blue orchids and white lilies
* eleven boutonnieres (groom, 4 Groomsmen, six special guests – dads, grandfathers) made of blue (groom) or white (everyone else) orchids
* four wrist corsages (special guests – aunts, grandmothers) of white orchids
* ceremony site decoration (see pic below!) of grapevines and white wisteria (artificial flowers for this)
* reception hall decorations (the ceiling beams as it is a rustic building!) of grapevines
* six centerpieces of submerged white orchids
* six centerpieces of floating blue orchids
* cake decorations of blue orchids
* Favor Table decorations with white lilies and blue orchids
…And I THINK that was all of it….
She quoted $1431 for all of that! Is that good, average, or expensive?
How much did all your flowers cost..?
(but white wisteria instead of the purple)
(Except not QUITE so many grapevines… and no Christmas lights either)

That’s cheaper than mine, for more stuff!
ETA: noticed how small the centerpieces are. that makes it seem a bit more expensive. have you seen a breakdown of the costs of each item? I would get quotes from other places and compare 🙂 I know my flowers cost more than I expected them to as well.

@lovelove1028: First of all- I think your flowers sound lovely! The inspiration pics are great 🙂
Where abouts do you live? Prices vary greatly by location.
Also, how much ceremony & reception decoration are we talking? And how big are the centerpieces and bouquets?
I think your quote sounds reasonable, from what I’ve seen/heard.

I’m thinking this is very reasonable! But I’d like to hear what other brides are spending, and now I’m thinking maybe I should cut down on my flowers. I’m from a small town, and I got estimates from 2 different places which both said average wedding flowers cost around $3000. The one that I booked and planned with is already at $3900. Maybe because we’re estimating 330 people, so there’s a lot of tables to do centerpieces? I’m not sure but I’m going to look into cutting some of that price!

I am getting my flowers SUPER cheap because my mom’s good friend is a florist BUT on the “quote page” that she gave me it had the breakdown before the discount.. Here is what it should have been:
4- Bouquets (1 larger for me, 3 smaller for BM’s) made of coral roses and blue carnations
7- Boutineere’s (2 Dad’s, 1 stepdad, 3 groomsmen, pastor) made of coral roses
4- Corsages (2 mom’s, 1 stepmom, 1 grandmother) made of coral roses/blue carnations
18- Centerpieces.. These will look similar to your first picture, just standard flowers in vases (We are doing other table decor ourselves) made of coral roses/blue carnations, babys breath, etc.
15- Spare coral roses for cake decorator to put on cake.
The total cost for all of this WOULD have been $1200. We are actually lucky and only paying 500. I know that brides bouqets run around $100-200, BM’s ones run $75ish, boutineeres cost about $6 each, corsages $10-15 each.. I have a lot more centerpieces than you but am not doing any ceremony decor with flowers. Our backdrop is a waterfall so we aren’t doing a lot.. just having pomander balls up the isle and tulle bows on the end chairs.

@loving_life: She told me the prices as she was writing them all down… she said she’d write up a proposal and email it to me. I haven’t gotten it yet though, and I don’t remember the prices for anything except the two different centerpieces were $20 and $25, and cake flowers were $25. :/ It’ll definitely be more helpful when I can see everything itemized!
@lanalnoco: Thanks so much!! 😀 It’s been quite a journey to get to where I’m at… I changed my mind a million times along the way. Haha. The wedding is in the Poconos, which I understand is a lot more expensive than most areas… The ceremony decorations will be similar to what I pictured, but white wisteria instead of purple (there are also dried grapevines in the picture.. if you look closely you can see them!), and the reception hall is the other pic I pictured, but it looks like they had a LOTTT of grapevines… it will just be grapvines wrapped around the ceiling beams like that, just not quite so many! I have two types of centerpieces in mine – one is a submerged orchid like I pictured ($25 each), and the other is a flat bowl with a couple blue orchids and white candles floating in it ($20 each). She said she could spice them up with other little stuff too, if I want a mirror underneath them, or votives in holders surrounding them, or scattered crystals, etc. But as long as I dont add more flowers they’d be the same price.
@DamaskBride47: We’re only planning for 90 guests or so – 12 tables. So 330 guests is more than triple what I’m planning for, so $3000 doesn’t sound TOO crazy?? I don’t know much about flowers though!! 🙁 Good luck!!
@Brooklyn55: Thanks for that!! That doesn’t sound too far off from my price quote, (whew!). A waterfall sounds beautiful!! And you reminded me… aisle decorations are included in my price quote, too (just two pairs of shepherd’s hooks with mason jars and some flowers in them! I think I wanted lilies in the jars).

- Wedding: March 2012 - Pelican Grand Beach Resort
That sounds pretty cheap to me.
Our flowers were just over $2k and we had 2 BMs and 2 GMs, 83 guests. We used only seasonal flowers.
