There are a TON of recent threads on this, but i’ll go ahead and comment – I would expect, for a decent photographer who is not new to weddings in your area, to pay around $2,000 minimum for what you want, with only a disk with edited images. If you want albums, prints, etc., expect to pay a lot more (an engagement shoot is probably $300-600 depending on the photographer, for example). You might get really lucky and find someone for $1,000-2,000, but I would expect $2,000+. You could of course try the Craigslist route if you want to save money, but that is very hit and miss.

I’m from Vegas and we are paying $25.00.  That includes the disk and 500 prints.

Sorry that your post was multiplied.  Our system has been glitchy lately.  I deleted your other identical posts for you so that everyone can answer to this one!  🙂

A question like this is completely dependent on geography. I think this is so specific to different areas, that you’d get a much more consistent response on your local boards. For instance, you’re in NYC. I really doubt you’re ever going to see the $900 price tag that @stephanie63087 just quoted. (And if you do, you should run the other direction.) In fact, in your area, the photographers are going to be more to the expensive end of what you see here.

In the Baltimore area, I’m getting a great deal paying $1,175 for 8 hours of wedding day coverage and an engagement shoot. That gives me digital copies of all edited pictures and full rights to the images. It also includes a 20 page wedding album.

I don’t really think there is an average price-it depends on what you want and where you live. To me the going rate in Philly is $4000-$6000 for a professional photographer who knows what they are doing. Newish photographers charge about $2000 for weddings so really there isn’t really an average.

I’m from MA and paying almost $7,000 BUT you only get married one and the two photographers are great!  They are familar with our venue and church so our pictures will come out great.  The amount also includes engagement, frame to sign and etc.

photography is art, so price doesn´t tell very much.. You can find a good photographer in Mexico charging 2000, and be as good as one of 5000…
