@asagirl:  I would say around 100.  Almost everyone I know that had a large wedding (i.e. 250+) all say they wish they had something smaller though.

My wedding was around 190 guests, most weddings I go to are over 200+ (I have a very very large family). My wedding would have probably been one of the ‘smaller’ wedding in regards to the number of guests we had.

But most weddings in my family are buffet style, with open seating etc but we had a seated dinner.

This is a difficult question to get the correct answer. If asking based on “weddings you have been to,” it is going to misrepresent the number of larger weddings, since people are MORE likely to be one of two hundred people at a large wedding than one of twenty opeople at a small wedding. So, people will perceive that larger weddings happen more often than they actually do, simply because they are invited to those more often, as one of the large number of guests.

Wow, the polls are pretty close. 3 out of 4 weddings I’ve been to were under 100 and the other was 150. Ours will be under 100
