DID EVERYONE ELSE MISS THE FACT THAT HER Fiance ACTUALLY POSTED ON THE THREAD!?!?!?!

@Musicman2012: If the reason you couldn’t see the inclusion is because you have a “vision” problem, why didn’t ask to see certified paperwork on the quality of the stone?  Also, OP already stated that you guys “let the store pick out the stone” which is crazy.  My fi went to the jewelry store multiple times JUST to look at center stones.  He knew about every imperfection within the stone (they aren’t visible to the naked eye) before purchasing it!  And not because he saw them, because they gave him GIA paperwork that like, mapped it out.

Maybe people have been a little “harsh” to the OP but I don’t think it was unwarranted.  If you make a mistake why should the rest of the world let you believe it was someone elses fault?  That’s insane.

@Miss Tattoo: I have made my fair share of poor consumer choices.  Infomercials when I’m hungover just suck me in and make me think I need everything.  Not to mention, getting to “shop” makes me feel better.  Then I get some crappy face wash, a crazy toothbrush, or workout DVD set that SUCKS.  But I can’t call the infomercial people and YELL at them about it.  I just have to deal with the fact that I got waaaaay to wrapped up in an infomercial.

And on that note I’m still hostile about my magic bullet purchase.  First of all, I don’t know why you can’t just buy one.  And second, IT DOES NOT GRATE CHEESE THE WAY IT DOES IN THE COMMERCIAL IN REAL LIFE!  But if anyone wants to buy my spare off of me, it’s sitting in my crawl space, never used (seriously, you have to buy 2 of them…silly infomercials)

OMG.  So, is the Fiance posting on this thread to defend his shoddy diamond to his bride to be?  Does defending the diamond to a bunch of randoms on the internet make it nicer?

Just checking.

Ughhhh, I am so upset that Magic Bullets are not what they say they are. I have always wanted one, but I never bought one.

I just think that Zales in general has a lot more low-quality stones than other retailers.  Places Like Costco and Tiffany will not sell diamonds that are not at least VS2 clarity, a certain color, etc.  With Zales and perhaps some other stores, the quality runs the gamut.  You could get an ideal cut D, VVS1 stone but you could also get a highly included stone.

I actually was interested in this post because someone previously told me that Zales had terrible diamonds – I had no idea.  One of my friends got a stone from Zales and as I was admiring it I noticed this mark that looked like a huge slice through the stone.  It was so obvious that I almost asked what it was, and then at the last minute, realized that it was a HUGE inclusion.  I don’t have a jeweler’s eye, not even close, but this inclusion was horrible.  So I can see what the poster is saying but I think what it comes down to is that you need to do your research.

@yearns4god: Glad you got the ring of your dreams and were able to return your Zales diamond!

@MandaMack: I always wanted a magic bullet.  I’m embarrassed at how sad I am that you’re saying it’s not as good as they made it look. 🙁

@Mrs.LetsGoPens: DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY…you’re going to the meet-up Feb 19th, right?  I’ll bring you my spare.  And if you can make it grate cheese the way it does in the commercial you’ll have to teach me, hahahahaha.

my Fiance got went to a “ma & pa” indian jeweller in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. It is a custom design for a reasonable price (he says), since im not sure what it cost). I get nothing but complements and it is certified.

He always told me to stay away from “mall” jeweller’s.

Im sorry to hear your experience was not great. Hopefully it doesnt happen to anyone else.

@arenyth: Smoothies are great, but I just want to be able to grate parmesan cheese like they do in the commercial.  Do you know how to do that?  And, when I tried to shred chicken with the “tap tap tap” technique I just got chicken mush.  I’m happy with it’s mushing ability, but I want it to work better as a food processor.

I apologize for the hardcore threadjacking…it was not malicious…but it is amusing that we were able to turn a thread about diamonds into a thread about infomercial products and chicken mush.

@MandaMack: hahah it does pretty much mush stuff. Have you been cutting the cheese up into little blocks before grating? And tried using a different blade?

@Miss Tattoo: If you had popped back into the thread sooner, you could have been the lucky winner.  If LetsgoPens doesn’t show up to the meetup, my spare is all yours.  I just need to find it, haha.
