I strongly recommend not doing business with the Castle on the Hudson in Tarrytown, NY. We were planning on a January 2012 wedding there but after we sent in our signed contract and they charged us over $2,750 for a deposit they decided that they didn’t want to honor or contract because of all the snow and ice we had this winter. First they said that they would not be having any weddings during the winter and wanted to change it to October or November (not an option for us). When we finally agreed on a date in December they told us that someone else had taken it and there were no other dates available at our “price point” (in other words, they wanted to try to make us pay more than we had originally agreed to). After finally speaking to the General Manager they offered us only one other date in early December but refused to even consider anything in January. They kept our deposit for over 10 days while they tried to string us along to make us take a date that was better for them! They wasted over six weeks of our wedding planning time! Castle on the Hudson is more concerned about money than anything. The General Manager complained that they had to spend $6,000 in snow removal and also that they haven’t made enough money this winter. Don’t let this happen to you…do not go anywhere near the Castle on the Hudson! And don’t believe anything they say even if it is in writing!
