I had made an appointment to go to Dresses and Dreams to gown shop yesterday. When we arrived at our appointed time, no one was around to greet us.
We waited a couple of minutes mulling around at the front before the saleslady finally emerged from the back. When she approached us she did not inquire if we were her appointment or by name, just with a “What are you in for today”. Once I explained I was in for an 12pm appointment, she basically pointed us to the dresses and said we should go through and pick out 5-6 I want to try on and to place them on hooks. She then disappeared back into the back for 10 minutes or so. No help, no suggestions, no warmth to her service at all!
When I asked about a certain gown I had come in to try she informed me she had it in the back but I couldn’t try it on. When I asked why, she informed me someone had put a deposit down on buying the sample and that she could show it to me but that was all. When I called the week before to book the appointment, I told them I was coming in to try on THAT specific gown and was told there would be no problems as they had it in stock. When I relayed this information, the saleslady told me they could perhaps borrow it from another salon but that would take time and energy on their part. Honestly at this point, I’d rather travel to the other salon with the hopes that their customer service was better (not a hard feat)
We then had to relocate the gowns from the hooks to the change rooms (which are ungodly small) because the Saleslady informed us she had a bad back! Seriously?
To finish off this horrible experience, my mother had to zip/lace me in to 3 of the 5 gowns I did try on because the saleslady was nowhere to be found. There were no discussion between her and my group. No inquiries about our wedding or the details. No, compliments on the few dresses she did see me in. I would tolerate this horrible customer service if we had been walk-ins on a busy Saturday, but we were the only people in the salon AND had an appointment!
My conclusion is EVEN if I had found my dress I would never have ordered it from Dresses & Dreams. All they offered was completely lackadaisical service, to the point of being downright rude. I would not suggest this Bridal Salon to ANY bride and would suggest they seriously consider changing the name to “Dresses & Nightmares”!!. I was so turned off by the experience I nearly didn’t go to the next salon, which would have been horrrible, because that’s where I said ‘yes’ to my dress. Their service was a ‘Dream’!!
