@unclsmitty123:  Same here. We hired Jesse Clark to film our July wedding. He avoided our inquiries for months after the wedding and didn’t tell us until January that he lost our footage. Now we have no video and he hasn’t refunded the money. Avoid Jesse Clark / SureShot / Magnolia!

I went with this scummy company, don’t be fooled. I now have no doubt that the “good reviews” are fake ones that the slimy owner Jesse Clark put up on his own! We booked him after finding this on Theknot.com, they should be ashamed for endorsing such a company. This company has all negative reviews if you Google them but all good ones on wedding websites, clearly the work of the owners. I went on BBB recently and they have a grade F and are flagged as a company that will probably change their name! Real shady stuff. Anyway, we booked them for our 4/28/12 wedding. Final payment was due 2 days before the wedding, but a week before Jesse charged our credit card the final payment. When I called for a refund, no answer (no surprising) and when I emailed him, he said “I haven’t heard from you” He doesn’t need to hear from me, the payment is due on 4/26 and it was only 4/20! So I told him to refund our account since a check was already in the mail. He never did… We went on our honeymoon and came back and saw that we still had a charge for over $600 from him!! We called and emailed him and never heard back so we had our credit card company get the money back after showing our contract and the voided check that he cashed right away!!! The day of my wedding Jesse didn’t show up as promised, he sent another photographer, really nice photographer, but has since left the company.. My family took pictures on the side thank god or I would have NONE! After we got the money back ourselves, I have still never heard from this company regarding our pictures or video!! I don’t believe I ever will… I was duped. I went by the wedding websites and not Google like I should have! Stay away people, this guy is a slime ball! My husband and I are filing a small claims lawsuit against him so we can get our money back and them I’m going to have to put the dress back and on and get “real” professional pictures taken! The worst part, we thought we had a videographer to help us remember parts of the night like our first dance, the speeches, etc… But we don’t have anything now… And all of the pictures with my mother and stepfather, gone. None of my family took those pictures since they were before the ceremony… I don’t want this company to do this to anyone else!! Run people!!!

I just searched the web and yeah, he seems like a real scumbag. Unfortunatley for us, we already put the depoit down. According to the news, he has shu the doors on Sure Shot and is using a new name. Hopefully we can find a new videographer in enough time…..my Fiance is gonna be so upset. Bye bye $800 deposit ๐Ÿ™

@LovelyLaura:  One thing to keep in mind is that the three bees who just posted this are all Wannabees with 1-2 posts. I don’t have any information about that video company, but it would be VERY easy for one of his competitors to create a few fake accounts and write slanderous reviews. I would look at more reviews and maybe talk to some brides before you write off your deposit…$800 is a lot of money! Perhaps you could ask him if you can pay him the rest of the amount when you get your video?

@likelimeade:  Thank you for your insight. When I posted it was about 1a.m. and I was in a panic! I googled the company and apparently there are 10-12 couples (according to NBC) that have been taken advantage of. Theknot.com also has a warning about the company (which is where I found them to begin with *sigh*), and the BBB graded them an “F”. We have moved on to hire another videographer as I would rather lose the $800 than risk losing my wedding video.

I e-mailed Jesse last night to “touch base” about the wedding, and I was notified that his e-mail address is non existant anymore. He never notified me that he would change his e-mail, so that pretty much sealed the deal. My Fiance is currently in touch with his credit card comapany, making sure we do not get charged the rest of the $$$ as we are cancelling our contract and moving on.

@LovelyLaura:  Oh no! I’m sorry you’re out your deposit, but at least you caught it before the wedding.
