Oh Girls! Don’t do it.
Here is my story and I plan to post it all over the internet. I ha tried on a casablanca dress at a bridal store and moved away, so I went hunting on the internet for this dress (casablanca 1953). I found the bridal site and was amazed to see the dress there for 800 dollars less than the price in the bridal boutique. So I ordered the dress and another dress that I liked as well the Watters san miguel dress.
Both dresses arrived late, wrapped in duck tape in a small package. One of the dresses as a dirt spot on it. The dresses are nothing at all like the dress in the store (which I did eventually purchase). The sewing is good. HOWEVER, The material is cheap, polyesther-like (not real lace). The beading is not at all like the original dress and there is about 10 percent of beading where the beading designs should be. The watters dress looks absolutely nothing at all like the actual photo.
I have requested my money back. They have agreed to refund me 40% but have not yet, and 50% if I send them back the dresses. The woman associated with the store (Sara) told me they were based out of Washington, US – and when the package from China arrived in duck tape- I knew the dresses were not authentic. I asked if they would refund me the entire cost given that I could not find anywhere on their site that said these would be counterfeit dresses if I returned both dresses to them and they refused these conditions. I am so upset that I actually believed these were the real deal. Finally, I’m hoping they will refund the 40% and I plan to donate the dresses to good will for a tax refund – it’s all I can do. THE DRESSES ARE COUNTERFEIT AND NOTHING LIKE THE PHOTOS.
Topbridaldresses.com is a horrible site and is falsely advertising real designer dresses. Paypal is horrible for allowing this company to use them for their transactions.
Do not order your dresses from topbridaldresses.com you will be thoroughly dissapointed.

Oh no, you poor thing. 🙁 I’d want a 100% refund and an apology!
I hope you can find a lovely dress somewhere else.

I’m sorry you had a bad experience. There are a lot of websites like that. I think you just need to be careful and notice that the website doesn’t claim to sell authentic dresses, they are all replica dresses. Usually websites that sell replica dresses have their own size/measurement chart (rather than the designer’s chart) and the ability to have the gown made in a lot of different colors (which is not really the case with an authentic gown).
I ordered my Watters dress from Netbride.com, who only sells authentic dresses. If you are looking for a discount on the real dress, I would recommend going through them.

That sucks! Just a really bad reminder that if something seems to good to be true, it probably is! 🙁

Oh, I’m so sorry you had to go through this. I can’t believe Paypal allows this site to use them!

wow thank you for all the support! I am currently posting reviews all over the internet and I can’t believe how many people have gone through this…thankfully I have the means to easily go out and get the dress I really wanted. Check out my dresses– casablanca (1953) and my other dress at corenmoore.com (katherine dress). (we are having 3 ceremonies) 🙂
Pay pal so far has been unsupportive
Still, I feel like such an idiot- live and learn! I’m usually so savvy. Originally I was concerned about the sizing – but I figured what’s would be so terrible if the dresses don’t fit perfect since they are so inexpensive and we currently live in a college town, I figured I could sell them on craigslist, but being inauthentic and cheap looking I just can’t! I just don’t want anyone else to have to go through this. I mean what if I really had no other funds to spend on a dress?…I’d be so out of luck.
I feel so much better that you are out there listening…if not paypal or topbridaldress or casablanca…at least you, the consumer- is hearing this and the word is getting out!
Wishing you all the wedding of your dreams!!!

I’m so sorry you’re going through this! Unfortunately these types of scams are all over the internet. I purchased what I hoped would be my wedding shoes from one of these sites. It looked legit and it seemed local. I thought it was one of those warehouse/outlets for shoes.
I paid $150 and received -not only fake- but very low quality shoes that looked nothing like the shoes I ordered and 5 sizes too big. In a box with duct tape. Sent from China…yikes…the site said free returns and all but no one replied to my emails nor calls. After a while they closed their website and changed to a new URL.
I contacted Palpal but they can not do anything unless you did NOT recieve your items.
These scams annoy me so much!

Did you pay for the dress with a credit card through Paypal? I’d do a chargeback. Don’t pay for this! And, if you send the dresses back, send them in a way that is trackable! I always use my credit card when paying merchants through Paypal – it just makes me feel better to have that extra layer of protection.

OMG! I’m SO sorry this happened to you. I’d definitely press Paypal by disputing this, and get your bank/credit card involved, too. Places like this should NOT be allowed in business!!! I wish you all the best in finding your beautiful dream gown 🙂

Um, I think there are some puppets?

Yes, we just deleted five posts from the same IP promoting a series of dress stores based in China.

You know what sucks? The IDEA of Weddingbee Sock Puppets sounds adorable and delightful. Like a bunch of sock monkeys all wearing veils and talking about invitations and cocktail hours to each other. But in REALITY, sock puppets are NOT adorable and NOT delightful.

My experience was similar–JUST DONT DO IT!
They sent me my wedding dress that looked nothing like what it was supposed to look, and refused to give me the full refund, even though they agreed in an email that the dress was not made the way it was supposed to be made–it was embroidered in black! They said sorry–the person who made your dress will be held responsible. On top of that, I had to pay out of pocket to send it back, which cost me over $50 (Fedex or UPS were over $150!) They did offer to re-make the dress, but after seeing the first version, I wasn’t about to commit to waiting for a re-make. Let this be my lesson which cost me over $150. Buy a dress from the store or this site: http://www.bestbridalprices.com I’ve used them before (their store is located in IL) for bridesmaids dresses and just re-ordered my dress. They are more expensive than chinese rip-offs, but less expensive than most stores. You will save at the end, trust me.
