For any bride thinking of having their dress made in the New York City area, I found an amazing woman. Her name is Amanda Hallet.
I brought her my grandmother’s 1930’s satin wedding dress and asked her to completely redesign the top half of it (and part of the bottom). She was so knowlegable, easy to work with, enthusiastic, and very talented. She really listened to me. Working with fabric that is over 70 years old and been in a box for almost that long is not easy, but she made everything I wanted work. And it cost less than buying a dress.
It looks gorgeous and is a real original. I feel like I’m wearing cutoure!
If anyone is interested in contacting her, I’d be happy to send you her information.
