Well since my boyfriend and I own our own business through A.G. (I dont wanna upset the bee g-ds by putting the name of the company in fear of seeming thinking I’m trying to spam the boards) we go to alot of seminars together where we hear alot of self-help and growing stories to help us with the business. One of the higher ups on our business team (and multi millionaire) told this story this weekend and it really touched me.
A daughter went to her mother and told her how nothing in her life had been going right and she was ready to give up. The mother then walked to the kitchen without saying a word. She filled up three pots with water and in the first put carrots, the second eggs, and the third ground up coffee beans. When they came to a boil she turned off the stove and got three bowls. First she fished out the carrots and put them in a bowl, fished out the eggs and put them in a bowl, and ladeled the coffee into a bowl. Then she asked her daughter “What do you see?”. The daughter smirked and said carrots, hard boiled eggs, and coffee. The mother told her to look closer. “You see the carrots went in hard and unrelenting, but when they faced the boiling water they became soft. The eggs hard shell protected its soft center, but when they faced the boling water their insides became hard. The coffee however is unique, because it changed the water. All three of these things went into the same adversity.. the boiling water.. but the coffee managed to change the water. So ladies I ask you.. When adversity knocks on your door how will you react? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?”
