I’m working on the wedding songs and am looking for great songs that haven’t been done to death at weddings.
Some of my fav bands/artists are — Keane, Zero7, Air, dj cheb i sabbah, rihanna, paul oakenfold + cool 80s like thompson twins, depeche mode, def lepperd, etc.
I’m *not* into: mariah carey, whitney houston, marvin gaye, and other artists that you typically hear a lot of music from at weddings.

Our ceremony songs were pretty straight forward instrumentals, but are reception songs were:
Intro: “Kick in the Head,” Dean Martin
First Dance: “Dream a Little Dream of Me,” the Mamas and the Papas
Anniversary Dance: “100 Years,” Five for Fighting (Picked the DAY of the wedding as a last minute addition. In retrospect, I might have chosen “Thin Air” by Aqualung.)
Cake cutting: “L.O.V.E.”, Nat King Cole
An unofficial wedding song was the song we listened to on the car on the way to the reception. It was “Jeepers Creepers” on the radio. We were so giggly and bubbly and it was the perfect fun song for the two of us to share together on that short drive.
ETA: When I read that you like 80s bands, my first thought was “Alone” by Heart. Maybe it’s cheesy, but I love that song, haha. Also extremely cheesy, Meatloaf’s “Heaven Can Wait,” which is just about the only Meatloaf song that I think would be wedding appropriate…definitely no “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad”!
