i pick at my cuticles. not even nails, but the skin. it’s horrible cause it makes my fingers look so gross, and it’s really hard to grow them back normally cause i’ve split them up. blech.

@ceamoste I do the same thing! I have to get acrylic on my nails so that they aren’t sharp enough to get to the skin! It’s so embarrassing and gross but I have never been able to break it.

By The Way don’t feel bad about your eyebrows because at least you don’t bite your toenails like me ….EW so gross it even freaks me out and I’m the one doing it!

I pull out my eye-lashes! I can’t help it, but I have lots of them so it hasn’t been too bad yet!

I’m totally a nail biter. I quit when I was in hs (my mom said she’d give me $20 if I grew my nails for prom. Its amazing what you’ll do for $20 at 15)… but now whenever I’m stressed its my go-to. Too bad I’ve been stressed since like…. 2005. haha

There is a medical condition called trichotillomania that is basically repetitive self-pulling of hair.  There are treatment options that you could consider if you talked to your doctor – habit reversal training, medications, etc.  Just something to consider ๐Ÿ™‚

I really sympathize with what you’re going through.

I was about to comment on the trichotillomania! There def is a treatment for it – it’s usually cognitiviely based (like as part of obsessive thoughts or anxiety).

I picke at my naisl and cuticles, and am obsessive about tweezing stray hairs in any areas. Recently my nails got really bad, bc I was stressed about work and wedding and everything, but I’m gonna get a mani/pedi tomorrow for letting them heal for a couple of weeks – hoping that will motivate me to chillax and not pick at them anymore!

My weird habit is biting off the skin on the inside of my cheeks.  The inside of my mouth is almost never smooth because of how much I bite and chew on it.  It drives my family crazy, and it doesn’t help that they know when I’m doing it because my mouth usually twists all over my face as I reach for loose skin!
