My husband is such a caring man who is my everything. But, I’ve been a little underwhelmed with my husband since we found out we were expecting. I had these fantasies that he would be the doting husband who rushes to take care of my every whim while expecting (thank you, Hollywood). However, it’s been kind of “business as usual” and he hasn’t really shown any excitement or interest.
But out of the blue last night, he grabs my WTEWYE and reads up on months 3 and 4, and the chapter for dads 🙂 When he sees the look of shock on my face, he explains that he was containing his excitement because he didn’t want to get his hopes up until we were out of the first trimester and he didn’t share that with me before now because he didn’t want me to stress out. So, naturally, my only reaction was to cry. I love that man so much!!

That is the sweetest! I would have cried, too. You definitely have a good man there. 🙂

Aww so sweet! I found my husband was keeping his dad books in the bathroom and reading then while “you know”. I don’t care where he reads them as long as he does!
I think its so important to remember that everyone deals with emotions differently and at different times. Throughout this whole pregnancy, there are weeks where I am SUPER excited and wanting to get everything done, and other weeks that he puts in the effort. Unfortunately it doesn’t always come at the same time!

That’s really sweet. You have a good guy! I hope my husband’s doing the same!!! Hahaha.

That’s so nice that he did that!
Watch out though, be careful what you wish for! My husband has become very paranoid, and while it’s just because he cares, he doesn’t like me doing anything anymore. Whenever I go out I hear, “Don’t go too crazy, make sure you’re taking it easy…”

That’s adorable! He’s a keeper! So funny how they show things in their own way, and in their own timeframe! My husband is too freaked out to read anything so I’m having to slowly slip tidbits to him so he’ll hear them at some point.

@artbee: I could see that happening – it’s already starting when I work out. He bought me a heartrate monitor so that I don’t “overdo it”. LOL
Funniest part was after he read the book, he said “it just keeps talking about emotions! I don’t care about the emotions as much as what I actually need to do” HA! So now he’s looking up the “what the heck do I do with it once we get it home” classes. Can’t help but giggle when I heard that.
