When my hubby proposed, i wasn’t expecting it and we hadn’t even talked about rings.. he did all the research and shopping on his own (and if you knew him, well, that’s pretty amazing lol). i think it’s more fun to leave it up to him.. drop hints with friends to help guide maybe, but let the rest be a surprise! it’ll be worth it!

He’s chosing. I just told him I want a Tacori. Thankfully he knew what a Tacori was so I didn’t have to show him.LOL

I would have loved to help, but FI chose the ring on his own.  I love it though, so all is well.

Kinda both, he knows what I want and if I find something then we will get it, or he might surprise me.

It’s kind of complicated.

We went shopping together and found a style that we both liked.  We also got my finger sized so I would not have to get the ring re-sized after he proposed.  After that, it was him who had the final say and actually decided!  I knew what the style would look like but I did not see the actual ring he chose until he asked me to marry him.

my Fiance knew the style I liked…lucky for me it was the style he was going to pick…but when it came down to it, he took the style I loved, and added his own flare, which made me love it even more!

As far as ring shopping goes, I really see all sorts of beautiful styles that I love, but since I feel that the whole wedding planning is kind of the bride’s terrain, I thought that the ring and the honeymoon is the groom’s terrain, with helpful hints from the bride. I feel it is best left up to the groom, though some input is nice since you will be the one to wear it for the rest of your life. Give him some options like on the type of metal that you like, whether you like vintage or more of the modern look, and what king of center stone shape you like. Then leave it to him to do it, I agree, it will definitely be worth it in the end!

I went pretend shopping with him one day… just for fun.  I didn’t have an exact ring I wanted.  I just told him what shapes I liked and that I like yellow gold.  Everything was else was on him.  I didn’t want him pressured to think I needed a certain size.

Well I just put a hint of the ring that I wanted in the drawer that SO always goes in. Hopefully he gets the hint.

We picked it out together 🙂 It was such a fun experience and I’m so glad he let me go with him. I picked out a few rings that I really liked and then left the store so he could make a final decision. That way it was still a surprise, but he knew exactly what I loved and he also helped select those ones. We both love the ring and now we have that fun memory 🙂

SO asked me to show him a couple of styles I like online but nothing in person, he wants to surprise me! From the jewelry he has brought me before he has great taste. However, the diamond we are using is one from my great grandmother’s ring. My parents offered it to us and we loved the idea of starting our new life together with some family history!
