pink624 :  Not me but I had a coworker a few years ago who did this. She told me herself one day that she was doing the B-12 shots. She was heavier than normal but nowhere close to obese. I’m not sure exactly how much she lost but she was really short so the weight loss was very noticeable. After she achieved her desired weight, she transferred to a different department and I didn’t see her again so I don’t know if she maintained the weight loss or not.

I did them for health reasons, not weight loss. I didn’t notice any weight loss, but I did have a bit more energy the day I got them, but it would wear off the next day. I was pretty low in B vitamins though.

My sister did them and they had no effect,  positive or negative.  I think they’d only help if your deficient in some way.

If losing weight was as easy as B12 injections, we wouldn’t have such an obesity epidemic.

From the Mayo Clinic:

There’s no solid evidence that vitamin B-12 injections aid weight loss. … Proponents of vitamin B-12 injections say the shots give you more energy and boost your metabolism, helping you shed unwanted pounds. But unless you have a vitamin B-12 deficiency, vitamin B-12 injections aren’t likely to give you an energy boost.

Bit late on, but I have to take the injections as I don’t naturally store any or get any from food. After years of taking them, they definitely do not give weight loss. I’ve heard that to people that are not deficient, they can boost energy slightly, however an espresso would do the same.

I’ve been DIYing B12 shots for years and it has done nothing for my weight one way or another.  The doctor prescribes and I inject, every other week.  This has been going on for years.

I have never noticed any effects.  It certainly shouldn’t do you any harm, though.

I didnt even know they could be used for weight loss! My dad has them for health reasons, and come to think of it, he eats way less junk now. Do they stop cravings?

I had them done for a long time because my b12 was low and had other issues. Did not notice weight loss or energy.

pink624 :  if you’re “lacking energy so badly” then you need to look at other nutritional problems, like vitamin d deficiency, iron deficiency, and iodine deficiency.

I tried B-12 injections. It just made me have my period all the time. It was the worst. You might have better luck.
