If you want her to be there, you should allow her to bring the baby. A two-month-old will still be nursing.

Yes… Why not? If something happens with the baby she can always leave the room and take care of it. She obviously wants to be at your shower, and if you want her there then you will understand eventually … Also, put yourself in her shoes! 🙂

Absolutely! I doubt it will cause any problems

I would. She probably won’t attend if she can’t bring the baby.  Is there a reason you don’t want her to bring the baby other than no one else is bringing children?

my first thought is that you were concerned that it would take the spotlight off of you. i kind of get that (hey- i just get one shower!), but i think 1. it’s not up to you– you’re not the hostess and 2. it’s a newborn.

i wouldn’t even hesitate. yes, baby comes.

I think it’s maybe not typical, but it definitely depends on the person, the family, etc.

We had mine a couple of weeks ago, and we planned for and wanted the little ones to be there. We were all disappointed when we realized that the place we were having it was 21-and-up. My sisters planned it from out of town at an Irish pub, and around here all the Irish pubs operate as restaurants and kids are welcome … but that one operated as a bar, and they weren’t allowed. We were all bummed not to have the kids there.
