I’m sorry to hear about how things didn’t go as you had planned and hoped.  As much as you may question how different decisions may have ultimately affected the outcome, you can never know and will only wrack yourself with it, so please try to take the time you need to process this very emotional event and then move forward.  So glad to hear you and baby are now doing well!

I am so sorry you went through such a difficult delivery of your baby. I can empathize with you, as I had a similar experience. After, your mind is flooded with “what if’s”, but you need to work hard to remind yourself that you did what you thought was best, and everything ended up okay.

My water broke at 5a.m., and I was in the hospital before the overnight nurses went home (probablyt 6:45?) I was induced a while later becasue my contractions had not begun. Eventually, I was given an epidural. by the time it was time to push, it was already 6:30 p.m. I pushed on and off for HOURS. The overnight shift came back in and were surprised to see me. They called the doctor in (who was not my doctor), and she discovered I still had a lip of cervix that had not dilated. Due to the pushing, I was swollen and would not allow the baby to pass. I ended up with a c-section at 2:01 a.m. on the 14th. I went home with baby on the 18th.

The c-section was pretty traumatic and scary. one minute I was just laying in my delivery room, the next there is a whirlwind all around me, I’m getting pumped with drugs, I was shaking uncontrollably. I was so scared the baby would die, or that I would. I can’t even explain how relieved I was when I could finaolly see her and know she was okay.

Again, I am so sorry you went through such a traumatic delivery of your baby. Just know that you are not alone and we are out here for you if you need to chat. Congratulations on your baby, and hoping for a speedy recovery.

I’m sorry your delivery didn’t turn out the way you’d hoped or planned. But hooray for a healthy baby and I’m glad you’re recovering well.
