I have no sense of smell. Never have.
Now that that’s out of the way, my question–
Darling Husband hated Dreft, because he said it smelled too much, and he just wanted to smell the baby. We have been using the Babies R Us store brand, because it passed his smell test. (As in, no very strong odor)
I ran out today, and the closest BRU is an hour away, so I’m going to buy either All Free and Clear or Tide Free and Gentle.
Does one of these smell less than the other? Anyone know off hand?

I’ve been using All Free & Clear for years. Our first baby is due next week (OMG!) and I’ve already washed her clothes in that. It does not have a scent.

I can tell you a very easy way to make your own detergent that is gentle enough that we use with our babies clothes as well as our own.
3 cups Borax
3 cups Washing soda (both of these ingrediants are found in the detergent isle at a grocery store)
1 bar regular ivory soap.
Combine the Borax and washing soda then finely grate the ivory soap with a cheese grater. Mix it all together and you have a cheap, easy, gentle detergent. One or two tbsp in the washer is all it takes per load.
I put the stuff in tupperware and use it in my HE washer, it works very well and lasts a while. If I have any tought stains I just use a tough stain remover but most of my clothes don’t typically have them

We use Free and Clear and it has no scent at all. Dreft smells really strong but I always liked it!
