Fall_In_Love22:  make sure you still do your research and check Consumer Reports etc. I wasn’t recommending this particular brand, just letting you know there are gates out there with walk through pet doors.

I have a baby gate with a built in cat hole. only it doesn’t work well for our cat because he is enormous- 20lbs. But if you have a normal sized cat it would be great. I bought it on amazon.

If you were to build your own there are doors you can buy that are meant for security on outside doors. They have a tag that goes on the collar so that the door will only open if the tag is near. I’d be worried about a kid slipping through a cat door otherwise, especially as they get bigger (and smarter!). You can also program it to your cat’s microchip if they are chipped. <br />http://www.sureflap.com/products/details/1-microchip-cat-door

Fall_In_Love22:  I hope I’m the only one that read your title and said it in my head kind of like “watergate” as in the watergate scandal. I thought it was some kind of play on words kind of thing lol I didn’t realize it was a literal baby gate.

Wow… I just need to go home I think. Sorry I don’t have any useful input. :\

Fall_In_Love22:  OMG!! that’s exactly what I need to do. I am on a roll today… Too bad there is no nap in my future. Only a 2 hour baseball practice with DS. Such is life…
