I went for a convertable car seat ( a brand called infa secure) as buying the capsule and then needing to get another car seat seemed like a waste haha I also bought a stokke xplory stroller which I’m in love with. Just need December to come so we can use it all!

I love, love, love my UppaBaby Cruz stroller. It’s so stinkin’ easy to steer, and so light. It’s also fairly sleek looking. I have the UppaBaby Mesa carseat, as well. Love that thing, too. But, I totally get the draw of the convertible seat right off. My DD is 8 months old now.

A friend has an Orbit Baby (I forget which model), and I really don’t care for it. It doesn’t do one-handed steering which is a must for me.

Snapper:  I have the Graco smart connect 30/35. I LOVE IT. I did get one that was a travel system. I also saw Graco has the new forever system which looks beyond amazing. I totally want that for baby 2!

Honestly the whole car seat thing confused me more than any other baby gear. I don’t know why, lol, maybe I am just slow. But I started with the Chicco kefit 30 then graduated to the Peg Perego (I forget the exact model but it fits up to 70 lbs). What I liked about the Chicco is that it was top rated for infants and also snapped into my Uppababy Cruz stroller with an attachment. But for the life of me I could not figure out if we should buy a convertable car seat that would work for a newborn up to a toddler or if it’s better to buy two separate ones. The options out there absolutely exhausted me so I just gave up researching.

Snapper:  So true. I debated the Vista, but the Cruz won out. I don’t think I would have ever used the bassinet, and the style of the Cruz worked for me. I went with the Mesa because you don’t need an adapter to fit in the Cruz. I have to say, the Mesa is super sleek, easy to install, and I really love the side impact protector. Also, it’s easy to clean the whole darn thing when poopsplosions happen.

I haven’t gotten as far as deciding on brands yet, but I think we’re going to go straight to a convertible car seat – I don’t see myself carrying baby around in an infant car seat anyways (I’d rather just wear them in a carrier), so the only reason to go for the infant seat would be to carry baby in and out of the house in it.  I also think we’re going to hold off on getting a stroller, for the same reason – the only time I can see us using it for awhile would be going for walks, and we could just wear baby then too.  We’ll probably get a nice umbrella stroller down the line when baby is big enough for it.

I got the Britax BSafe and the Baby Jogger Versa, which work as a travel system together. I can’t speak to how they are because baby’s not here yet, but I chose them based on recommendations and reviews.

I have Bob revolution and matching infant seat (britax bsafe equivalent).  I have loved them, and I got a great deal on the package (plus adapter) so it’s been worth it to me to have the infant seat.

I just couldn’t bring myself to wear my 7lb baby in a carrier so I preferred to take her out in her infant seat (stores, restaurants, etc).  It’s been very useful since she is almost 5 months but not sitting unassisted yet.  We just used it in a restaurant last weekend.  But if you’ve already done the infant seat thing you probably know what your preferences/lifestyle is like.  I am only now starting to use my carrier some since she has head control.

You could always hold off on the stroller thing until you get to the point of needing it.  I love my stroller though!!

I’m almost 15 weeks and just starting to look around for baby gear. This will be our first child, so I’m just trying to do as much research as possible. I think it is between the Britax B-Agile stroller + Britax B-Safe seat or the Graco FastAction Jogger + Graco SnugRide 35. I’m also thinking of just getting a double stroller from the get-go as I’ve heard from a couple of my mommy friends that this helps if you plan to have more kids, but I think maybe we can cross that bridge when we get to it??? And when we do have a 2nd kid I’m thinking then we can purchase one of the convertible car seats. Decisions, decisions!!

We’re expecting our first child in November and have decided on a Peg Perego Book Pop-up with the car seat that goes along with it. Basically we wanted the stroller that we could compact the most, since we’re always filled to the brim whenever we go anywhere with the car.
