I love the name Noelle. Even though it obviously has ties to Christmas, I wouldn’t think it odd to name a baby that born any time of the year. Not a fan of Nelly though. Like PP said, all I associate that name with is the rapper. To me, Noelle is a short enough name that it doesn’t really need a nickname.

Noelle is one of my favorite baby names! My best friend “claimed” it back in high school. πŸ˜‚

I love Noelle Elizabeth. It’s beautiful and somehow unique yet classic at the same time.

Noelle Elizabeth is a bit of a tongue twister to me – too many L’s. But it works enough that if I heard the name that’s all I would think about – it’s elegant and beautiful – just hard to say. And how often do you say the middle name anyway XD

I know I’m alone in this but my grandparents had a cow named Nellie and whenever I hear Nelly or Nellie I instantly think of a cow. Not the most flattering nickname to me, so I certainly would not use it, but that’s just me! I do think Ellie is a prettier nickname though.

I love Noelle! Beautiful name. Unfortunately I agree with PPs about Nelly, not a fan! I like Elle or Ellie as a nickname, but I think Noelle doesn’t even need one.

I think you’ve picked a beautiful name! I know someone who goes by Nelly (birth name Onelia) and I’ve always loved her nickname, too, it’s so unique. Congratulations!

It’s a lovely name, except I don’t love the double “el” sounds back to back. NoELLE ELizabeth is a bit of a mouthful, but I guess how often does one really use their middle name.

I love Noelle, it’s on my own list of possible names! I don’t care for Elizabeth as much just because I feel like it’s such a common middle name. But they do flow nicely together so if that doesn’t bother you go for it.

See that’s my issue with the name. Unless it’s a December baby I think it’s odd giving a name that means Christmas

I love Noelle too, but also not a fan of Nelly. My name can be shortened to Nelly, and I used to hate it as a kid if anyone used it. Not sure how common the song “Nelly the elephant” is in the US, but I heard it a whole lot at school in the UK!

hollyberry4 :  Lol!! Molly was their other cow so I think of cows when I hear the name Molly too XD

I know I’ve said it many times on this website, but I have a pretty low bar with what names are okay. If the child’s initials don’t spell something like RAT or PIG or DOG or HOE (I have known children with all these initials), and you don’t name your child Puff, I think it’ll be okay. XD
