    I don’t think it’s too old fashion!

I love italian names, cause they are often spanish names too 😉

You know my love for Charlie, since that is a name we picked out too!

I think Sylvia is a lot more traditional of a name and you don’t hear it very often any more. I know someone who named their daughter Sylvie, which I think is more a French version of Sylvia. That could be a cute nickname for when she is younger.

Not at all old fashioned. I work at a hospital and have seen babies named Ransom and Tequila so your child’s name would be normal.

I think I like Charlotte better than Silvia, but I think that’s just because I’m weird and see “salvia” (the plant/drug) when it’s spelled that way.  I doubt many people would make that connection!

@MrsElopement:  I love helping in our nursery at our hospital when I get a chance and always ask what interesting names the have heard lately. The other day they told me about a girl named Pleasure and a a boy name Bucky Badger Lastname (the university of WI mascot is Bucky Badger).

@Juleie-No I would never make that connection, lol.

We first had wanted Sophia as a name for a girl but the popularity of that name just blew up and it started to bother me (and honestly became flat to me, it just didn’t seem as nice).  I came up with Sylvia as an alternative that was similar but unfortunately my husband didn’t like it.  I love it though!  I don’t know that I love Charlotte or Sylvia more than the other, they’re both beautiful!

I love Silvia. I don’t think it’s any more old-fashioned than Charlotte. I love Charlotte, too, though, so I’m not much help.

I like them both. My mother’s was name was Charlotte so if we ever have a girl that will be her name. I hate its recent spike in popularity but I understand why people love it. It really is a beautiful name.

I don’t think you can go wrong either way, they are both lovely.

I love them both!  Charlotte is on our short list of girls names.  🙂

I honestly like Silvia better than Charlotte. I think of Charlotte Rea and it goes out the door for me. Silvia makes me think of lightness and air.

Silvia is pretty, but I think Charlotte is cuter.
