I used an Amby baby for my 3 kids. I absolutely loved it and so did they. My youngest (4th baby) hated it! so i used a bassinet for her.

The hospital i had my kids in used them in the nursery also

I’ve never heard of baby hammocks but that sounds genius! Also, if you get one you should take cute faux tropical pictures. Sunglasses and paper palm tree and sun taped to the wall behind the baby. Adorable picture to put in a card for the family. 😀

It was the lyell mc ewin hospital in Adelaide. Womens and childrens hospital is known to have them also.

I used mine which hung from a stand, i wouldn’t get the cieling one (it was just too hard to find the beam)

I used it for day and night time, until they were old enough to sit up, or until they tried to get out of it.

baby number one was 6 months old when we trasistioned to a cot (boy)

baby number 2 was very happy to stay in it till she was 13 months old (girl)

baby numner 3 was 8 months old (boy)

Are there pros to a baby hammock over a normal crib?  I’ve never heard of someone using one.  Maybe it is one of those things that is more common outside of the US.

@hanzabelle:  Yeah. I just figured I’d show that.

I think most of the recall / hazards are dumb and can be prevented with a watch-full parent. Those exer-saucer things that are banned here are so AWESOME. They’re banned because kids went down stairs in them. WHO would put their baby in one and leave them unatended with open stairs?

Just dumb. I’d still use one.

@hanzabelle:  My first baby had colic BAD! and it was a god send!. My 2nd had silent reflux and it also helped with that.

The se,f settle which you mentioned is SO true i can’t stress that enough!. The 3 of my 4 babies which went in one had no issues self settling when they transitioned.

My 4th bub who hated it, i STILL have to rock to sleep she is now 21 months!!!.
I am a vintage mum (aka i know what to do) but she screams like blood curdling scream until we rock her to sleep om the couch. Oh well she’ll get there eventually.

It’s the best buy i have ever made.
