So my son is just about a year old and keeps getting his legs stuck in our crib rails. Today he was wedged at his knee and couldn’t possibly have gotten it out on his own. We have mesh bumpers, he just shoves them down. Any ideas what else we can do? He screams like a banshee when he gets stuck and I don’t blame him!

Disregard – didn’t see that mesh liners didn’t work.

What about the Montessori bed?

We had to get the firm bumpers, You know the ones that you’re absomutelt not supposed to use when they are babies because if they push their faces against them they will suffocate? Ya, those. That’s what we used because he couldn’t smash them down. Here’s a link to what I’m talking about lol

I wish. He gets his feet tangled and it’s too hot anyway. We live in the desert.
This looks interesting but at the moment he is still sharing our room. Unless it has the same footprint as a crib, it can’t work. Man do we need to build an addition! It’s really hitting home now that it’s time to stop procrastinating.
Looks like the best option of the above, for us at least. I don’t think he’d smother at his age. If he did, he’d have managed it already between blankets and pillow. Or when he shoves his lamb into his face on purpose…
