I don’t think they serve much purpose but can be cute for pictures. I would just imagine that they would slide down on a baby.

Some people love them; especially parents in the EC crowd, I’ve found.  Personally, I was never a big fan, but my kids are pretty long and skinny, so I felt like they didn’t stay up very well.

Still waiting on my first kiddo so no first hand experience here, but I know cloth diapering moms like them because some leggings/pants/tights don’t fit over the large cloth diapered baby booty. Also if the baby is not walking yet they aren’t really fighting with gravity when it comes to the warmers staying up.

I would imagine though, as the baby gets bigger, moves more and needs the diaper changed less, they would be less useful.

I’m at a loss; what’s EC?

I think the leg warmers are largely a gimmick.  They never stayed up on my daughter, who was long and chubby.  They were darling for pictures, but I just didn’t feel like they kept her very warm when paired with a onesie.

I love them!  We use them all the time in the fall weather here for little boy. With the mornings cool, and the during the day gets warm enough for shorts.  I have like 6 pairs for him and definately use them!

I’d actually never heard of these until I saw this post…I looked them up and I LOVE THEM!!  Aside from the cuteness factor, I think that they could be beneficial especially in colder climates!!

I think I’ll purchase a pair, even if for a photo, and see how the baby tolerates them and whether they stay up!

I bought a pair for Charlie and I think he’s worn them once. I actually gave them to my sister for her babies because they didn’t really keep him warm and I knew she would probably use them more than I would.

@Sassygrn:  Where do you recommend finding cute ones for boys?  All the ones I see are for girls, and I think they’re adorable!  We’ve got a boy on the way, so I definitely want a pair!

@morkiemama:  I found the ones I got on ebay, last year.  They were to big for him last year. They fit him perfectly. I got baseball ones, trucks & cars, argyle ones and some striped ones.

Example this is one of them. I don’t remember the seller but this is one of the ones I got him

I bought my niece a pair that look like a football.  They go to lots of football games.  But I have yet to see her in them.  not sure why if it that they don’t fit or work for her.
