    To me, Anderson and Bennett are last names. I’ve never heard of Holden. Not saying they’re bad, just my impressions!

    I like Holden. I’ve a student or two with that name in the past couple years (I teach at a University so that’s not a sign it’s suddenly becoming super popular!). It’s also the name of the main character on the Netflix show Mindhunter.

    I agree with PP that Anderson and Bennett both strike me as last names. But I like them okay.

    I know of Holden Caulifield!  But that’s the only connection to the name that I know.

    Anderson isn’t a first name, IMO.  I like Bennett though!

    In my life experience, Anderson and Bennett have been last names. Holden is a solid literary reference….I like it.

    I like the name Holden, but it would take me a minute to get used to it on a tiny baby cool

    I also look at what the shortened version of a name might be:

    Anderson = Anders, Andy or Sonny

    Bennet = Ben or Benny

    Holden = Denny

    I assume you’re not Australian because Holden is a car brand here lol…

    I like Anderson if it goes well with your surname (and Andy for short).

    They are all last names to me, but it’s not like that stops anyone these days. Out of the options I’d go with Anderson as easiest to nickname. Personally I prefer ‘traditional’ names instead of surnames though. Lol ask me again in 3 months when ours is due too… we have no idea what to choose for a boy yet and winged it last time.

    namehelp :  all 3 names are traditional surnames, that must be your subconscious style lol. I love Holden. I think Bennett is extremely popular and has been for a few years. Holden is getting more popular IME, but it’s a very nice name.

    I love Bennett and I went to school with a few, but never taught any (I’m a child of the late 80s and live in New England). I don’t associate it with last names except for Jane Austen.

    I don’t associate Holden with last names, but it does feel kind of trendy/modern to me, as does Anderson (although that’s clearly also a last name).

    I like your choices and vote Bennett, but don’t think you can go wrong. Try using each name for a week or so when referring to the fetus. It may help you see what meshes well.

    namehelp :  I’m not very familiar with American literature, probably should read some of your classics 🙂

    I don’t mind last names as first names, depending on what YOUR actual last name is. With my maiden it would’ve been bizarre, but with my married name, a name like Holden or Bennett would be fine (Anderson is basically only two letters off from my married name so it would be weird!)

    I think they are all trendy but that’s not a bad thing if it doesn’t bother you!

    I quite like Anderson! Bennett is nice as well.

    My reservation is that in the future, Holden can be used to create stupid jokes that your son might not appreciate. Not sure where the joke originated, but Ross and Chandler in Friends suggest Joey use the stage name Holden McGroin as a prank. I quickly googled it and there are a lot of memes/jokes using it as well. A lot of different and lewd jokes could be created using other words. I know that’s silly, as the actual name is quite elegant imo.
