I really like the name and personally know a few in real life.  It is definitely not a boys name, not even close, at least not in Greece so don’t worry about that.  Also it’s one of the few Greek names people can pronounce in english without it sounding weird (or different from the original name) which I think is important. Fellow Greek here ๐Ÿ˜›

i think of Artemis Fowl, never read the books but that’s what pops in my mind.

i wouldn;t name my child artemis, but if you love the name, you should do what you love.

I think of Artemis Fowl and also associate it as a boy’s name. I wouldn’t name my child Artemis but I don’t think it’s a terrible name either.

I definitely knew it was originally a woman’s name, so I love it for your baby girl!

I wouldn’t use it myself, but I think it’s a great name.  I don’t dislike it.  I work in a school, and I have gotten over any judginess that I could possibly have about what people’s names are or are they are spelled.  I’ve also never seen a student bullied for their name, so I say, if you like it, go for it ๐Ÿ™‚

I like it, especially if you’re Greek. I do wish it had a good nickname (not that all names need nicknames! my son’s name doesn’t have one, but it’s also only 1 syllable).

I like it but I’m a little biased as Greek mythology has fascinated me since I was little so I’m aware of the background info on Artemis. While we were toying with the slightly insane thought of becoming parents in our upper 30’s I told D H if it was a girl her name would be Persephone. Non negotiable! lol

I don’t like the name, but I did know it was a girl’s name and I actually know a woman with the name.

I have loved Artemis as a goddess and as a name. My name is Diana, her Roman counterpart ๐Ÿ™‚ I also like “Atlanta” or “Olympia” for a girl name from the Greek mythology.

Not everyone will like the name you choose, even a plain Jane name like… Jane. There is always the option of a more classic middle name lol Pick something you like and teach your kid to love it. Congrats on your baby girl!

Me too and so I don’t have a great association with the name because of that character! But even if people know it from the show they’ll get used to it being your daughter’s name instead and that’ll be the new association for them.
