These comments on here make me cringe. No one likes unique spelling or unique names.. BORING. I so wish my parents would have named me some off the wall crap or at least spelled my overly used name different than everyone else.

tbreannx3:  I’ll bet the comments make you cringe the way unique spellings make me cringe. To each their own, I suppose. She asked for opinions and she received them.

Greenleigh? Greenleigh? Really? I’m so sad for that baby.

I personally think you can have a unique name without it being a stupid misspelling of a common name or a really terribly “unique” name…I hate everything about the name Paisley/Paisleigh. It’s a pattern. It’s cute  for a baby but a teenager? An adult? The CEO of a company? Ugh, no.

Eva is very overdone lately. One of the most popular names in the last year at least, along with Ella.

I like:

Madeline Blake

Delaney Blake

Julie Blake

Caitlyn Blake

Cora Blake

Sarah Blake

Aimee Blake

HaaaveYouMetTed:  I am sure you are correct. I just said I wished my parents would have been more unique. I know I will not be using those overly common names for my kids either. If I know someone else with the name its definitely off my list. My soon to be sister-in-law has my name.. UGH!

oliviakatherine:  I vote Eva. It sounds great, and is classic. Don’t let your friend saddle her with a name that will forever be mispronounced, spelled incorrectly, and may lead to her being discriminated against in the workplace.

tbreannx3:  I like uncommon names.. It’s just the unique spellings that drive me crazy. I had a unique maiden name I had to spell my whole life. I’d hate to have to do that with my first name too!

HaaaveYouMetTed:  Well my friend use to always say she was going to name her kid “akjsdhflah” and then say its pronounced Allison.. LOL. I like unique spellings as long as it is still pretty obvious how the name is pronounced.

oliviakatherine:  The names just progressively got worse. Eva Blake is pretty, Paileigh was bad, Paisleigh was worse, and Greenleigh is just a new brand of awful. Well, congrats to them on their new baby and condolences to her on the name.

oliviakatherine:  You may want to point your friend toward namebery. They have a namehunter feature where they suggest names you may like by looking at your preference. They have great name lists and a forum where you can ask people for advice on baby names.
