I’m looking for babies names which have nicknames which kind of form another word – like Marshall and Lily from How I met your mother. Not just a shortening of the original name.
(This is very difficult to describe, if there’s a linguist out there who knows the proper name for it then let me know!)
Lily – Lily Pad
Marshall – Marshmellow (this is perfection)
Rose – Rose Bud / Rose Petal
Can anyone think of any others? Male or female. I completely love the idea of having a built-in adorable nickname.

One that comes to mind is Allie – Alley cat

My aunt is Terri – my grandma used to call her Ter Bear. So it’s kind of shortened, but also added something.

I’d like to name our next boy (or girl if I could get Darling Husband to agree) Reese, and I have already pictured myself calling him/her my little Reesey cup. 🙂

My poor nephew is Dekker… Sounds cute right? Wrong. The nicknames are awful!
Unfortunately not all nicknames are cute 🙁

@MrsMonty11: I knew a child (girl) named Reese and they called her Reesey Piecey. She has 4 older brothers (like 10 yrs older+) and was a tiny little girl compared to the boys in the teen family.
