i love crazy, italian names. I love Carmen, armand, luciano and luca for boys
for girls i love bianca, adelina, lucia..
DH likes common names: david, jennifer, john, etc.
ya., total opposite ends of the spectrum. Once we do have kids it will be interesting to see what we pick!

DH vetoed my top boy AND girl name, Elliott and Norah. He said Norah rhymed with his last name too much and Elliot is a “hipster” name.
His top boy name was Angelo so… yeah. Veto.

Benjamin, my favorite boys name. He says it’s boring and too common. ๐

Anna. Angeline (pronounced An-jah-line, long “e”). They were names of my grandma (late father’s side) and great grandma (mother’s side).
DH and I haven’t really seriously discussed many other names b/c we’re not TTC at the moment, so maybe he’ll come around.

We have pretty much settled on a gir. Name, Madelyn Joyce. Joyce is my grandmother’s name. We’d call her Maddie for short. We have had a hell of a time deciding on boy names we like. We have the middle name thanks to a family tradition, but he has vetoed a lot if my favs:
Callum
Liam (we both love, but he says it’s too common)
Thomas
Atticus
Levi
Finn
I hope our first is a girl, otherwise we’re in for a bumpy ride…!
ETA: my name is Ruth and I always hear things like, “Oh, my great-grandma’s name is Ruth!”

for boys we have like 3 names we both like… it was really easy to agree…
girl names are a completely different story…
We decided that we dont want to know the sex of our first, but I want the name initials to match so i can pick out monogram stuff… The boy name we like for our first starts with “C” so the girl names that were rejected so far are:
Charlotte (Charlie for short… my fave)
Ciara (he has NO idea who the singer is)
Caitlin

Bringing this topic back because I love reading all the responses!
I’ve loved the name Isabella for like 10 years, and have had full intentions on naming my first girl “Isabella Joy” forever! J pretty much nixed it the first time we had our (hypothetical) children talk. Because “it’s so long!”
Unfortunately, my name which used to be semi-uncommon, is now SUPER popular. Damn Twilight. Bella. Grr.
I kind of have a rule, the name should be uncommon enough to not have 5 other’s with the same name in their class, but you should still be able to find it on a keychain at a tourist store. ๐

DH has vetoed a TON of my name suggestions, almost always girl names.
A few that I even bother to remember: Tessa, Madelyn, Emma, Livia, Anna, Molly, Caroline. I’m not sure how he feels about my currents faves, which are Clara and Cora. I haven’t even asked because he usually doesn’t like them, lol! My family dislikes them, but they’ll just have to suck it up if we choose one of them.
The only boy name I remember him vetoing was Emmett.
