The day I found out, we called him Seedling. That lasted until we found out he was a boy, and now we call him by ththe name we’re going to name him.  6 weeks (or less!) for me to go now 😊

When I got pregnant the first time, we called the baby “Peanut.”  I miscarried and got pregnant again.  We decided we needed to call the new baby something different.  I told my husband we needed to pick something strong.  He was watching Dragonball z while we had this conversation, so my daughter ended up as “Senzu Bean.”  (Which is an imaginary magical bean in the anime cartoon with healing properties.)  Luckily for her, that kind of faded away over time.  Now she is 2 yrs old and we call her “munchkin.”  But she is still called Senzu Bean in my Ovia app.

oregonbride82 :  we thought about jalapeño but it was easier to just say ‘the baby’. We waited until birth to learn the sex.

Ours is tiny tardigrade, since my husband loves all things science and that’s what my app said the fetus was the size of when we first found out that I was pregnant. My parents don’t like that, so they call it LLB, ‘Littler little bug’, since they called me ‘little bug’ when I was a child.

I called her Ninja – she kicked the ever living shit out of me all day and night! I actually had one spot that went numb from all her kicking and didn’t get feeling back for 2 months PP. After she was born she kicked out of a swaddle so forcefully at the hospital my family finally was like “wow, holy crap you weren’t kidding that she can kick!”

I got a lot of flack from extended family for calling her Xenomorph. There was a concerned call to my father asking if I really wanted the baby. 😂 mem7 :

slomotion :  I sometimes referred to the baby as “my parasite” and holy hell did that upset some people. But technically she WAS a parasite, just one I signed up for and wanted.

Fetus (because of greys anatomy)

We also just call her baby girl. She has a name now (Elle) so sometimes i’ll refer to her by name. But typicaly she’s just baby, baby girl, peanut. Any nickname haha

LilliV :  I called my son that all the time when I was pregnant with him and some people got really upset by it too. I was like dude, take a joke, I clearly love my baby haha

Out little one goes by a lot of names. At first it was “The Bean” or “The Peanut”  because that’s what it looked like on the first ultrasound. Then, one of my cats started to bond with my bump and when I was talking to his Vet, the Vet made a remark about how my cat was under the impression that I had a kitten in there. Somehow, that evolved into Baby’s nickname of “Kit”. We’re pretty sure Kit is going to stick as a nickname after he or she is born, and we are both okay with that. In the meantime, my sister calls the baby “The Creature” because watching my belly move reminds her of Alien.
