Do baby showers need a cake?? We’re hosting a couples’ shower this weekend for a very low-key fun non-etiquettey group of people. There will be a few kinds of dessert (in addition to BBQ and booze), but it just occurred to me that maybe I need to get a cake? Whaddya say?

At most of the baby showers I have attended, very little cake gets eaten. By the time people are finished eating everything else. most people don’t have room left.
I would do some cute cupcakes. Leftovers can easily be frozen individually.
If you only want the cake to be the centrepiece, consider substituting a diaper cake instead.

i would do cupcakes. They are less mess and easy to carry and eat as people mingle!

I clicked Other because my girlfriends provided mini desserts for my bridal shower and I personally didn’t miss the cake and didn’t even think twice about it until my mom said something after the party. She said how she and others missed it and how they thought it was strange I didn’t have one. I’m sure the feelings would be the same at a baby shower. But do whatever you want. Who cares if there is cake for others especially if you’re going to have other desserts.
