Some of the most popular ones are:

1. Don’t Say “Baby” (everyone gets a necklace  or clothes pin, and you lose it when someone catches you saying Baby)

2. Guess How Many (fill a jar with jelly beans/buttons/safety pins/etc and guests get to guess)

3. Baby Trivia (ex. A baby is born every ___ seconds.   _____ is the first sense a baby develops. Babies have ____ bones at birth.)

4. How Big is Mommy’s Belly? (get a ball of yarn and each guests cuts a legnth they think will fit around her belly perfectly, the closets one wins)

5. Bobbing for Nipples (think bobbing for apples, but with bottle nipples instead)

 6. Baby Cherades (choose words related to pregnancy, babies, parenthood, or the parents-to-be.)

7. Baby Food ID (put various baby foods into diapers and # them, the guests can smell, touch, & taste the food to guess what flavor it is).

-“what’s in your purse?”

we played this at my bridal shower. it could work for a baby shower too and it’s good way to mix it up so it’s not all baby games.

you make a list of things people might have in their purse and they get points. common items like lip gloss or a bobby pin or a pen are worth 1 point and more unsual items are worth more. we gave prizes to the person who had the most points and to the person who had the most usual item in their purse. everyone had a lot of fun with it.

you can find the game online or just make up your own list/point system.

-“multi-tasking”

put laundry on a clothes line while holding a baby doll and talking on the phone at the same time (the mom to be was at the back of the room on the phone with the people playing). whoever got the most clothes on the clothesline in 1 minute(?) won.

– “shooting hoops”

if it’s a couples shower this is a good game for the guys (but i’m sure girls would like it too!). they have to throw diapers in the trash can from far away.

-name the most songs with the word baby in the title

baby bingo is quick and easy, just print off one of the many templates and bring some pens.

My least favorite are the poop game and the matching animal with their kid name (ie:  kid/goat, puppy/dog).

I like word jumbles (with words realted to the baby and the mom specifically)….

The most recent shower I had was “guess the baby name” – it was more for the mom (she hadn’t revealed the baby name yet) but it was fun to hear the names people picked for the baby!  (everyone wrote down their choice for a first and middle name, as well as their own name, on a piece of paper – the mom to be read all outloud).

I also like playing the ‘don’t say baby’ game – only because I always win!  There’s also the ‘don’t cross your leg’ game (where you take the clothespin from the person that has their legs crossed in any way). 🙂

I played one a few weeks ago that went over really well.  Basically you give each person a piece of paper with animals listed on it, and they write in whatever the baby for that animal is called.  The one who finishes first or gets the most correct wins.  For example:

Cat: Kitten

Dog: Puppy

Goat: Kid

Kangaroo: Joey

You can throw some tough ones in there to make it more interesting.

I’m not a fan of shower games, but I did see two cute things I liked at recent showers.

Late night encouragement diapers: Buy a pack of diapers and bring colorful sharpies.  Have guests write notes of encouragement to the mom she can read when changing the baby.  The mom-to-be was so excited about this.

Decorate the onesie: Buy some cheap onesies and have guests paint/decorate them.
