MrsTeasandkeys:  I like the game where everyone brings a baby picture and you have to match the person to their baby picture.  I also like the game where you list all the names you can for each letter of the alphabet, or list names that are also places or things (Denver, Dodge, etc.)  Games I HATE are the “don’t say baby” game where you lose a safety pin or something, and the “guess the baby belly size” game.  The candy in the diaper game is ok…but pretty gross!

I also hate the don’t say baby game!

My guest loved the celebrity baby photos, I googled baby photos for people like Brad Pitt, Miley Cyrus etc and people had to figure out who they were. The toughest ones were Brad Pitt (no idea why), Barack Obama and Prince Charles. People loved that game!

What about playing a game where you have to match the celebrity baby to the mom?

I loved the egg tossing game. You and a partner have an egg. You stand so far apart and toss the egg to each other. Everyone who catches then backs up a couple steps and tosses again. Repeat until there’s only one pair left.

If there are going to be a lot of presents (and thus a looong time spent opening them), then baby gift bingo is a good way to hold the attention of guests and engage them during gift opening.

I am borrowing the celebrity baby photo game idea for the shower I’m hosting in August. That sounds like fun!

For a baby shower I helped host recently, we did a “Pass the Prize” game.  We wrapped a prize and there was a cute little poem which instructed the guests to pass the prize to the person with the biggest purse, the person with the closest birthday, the person with the brightest shirt, etc.  Finally, the last person won the prize.

The prep was simple (I downloaded the game from an Etsy seller).

We also did Baby Gift Bingo which I found free online.

At my baby shower, we played My Water Broke. You get a package of those tiny plastic babies (they are sold in craft stores or party stores) & you freeze them in ice in an ice tray. Each guest gets one, & they can’t do anything to cause it to melt. Whoever notices it’s melted first yells My water broke! And gets the prize.

At a shower I co-hosted last year we did “bucket babies” – we had the tiny tubs of play-dough and everyone had x amount of time to construct a baby and put it in the play-dough bucket. It was easy and pretty cute to see how creative people were able to get in such a short amount of time.
