@eecuadrado: Asking for gift receipts pretty much screams ungrateful, as does worrying about what you get. If you want to make sure you get only what you want exactly, buy it yourself. Problem solved.

I agree with others — I’d probably stick to Lion King decor but not focus on that too heavily on the invitations, just so people don’t get confused!
And I know it’s ideal to have a gift receipt, but anything purchased from your registries (so if you get a double item, maybe) should be pretty easy to return thanks to the registry.
Good luck and have fun!
I’ve honestly never heard of people assuming the invitations are linked to what a person is doing with the nursery, so I’d send whatever invitations you like, themed or not. Our invitations for my daughter’s shower were with storks and tutus, and her nursery is in baby jungle animals…not even close.
I also wouldn’t ask for gift receipts either. If needed, you can always contact them later.
@eecuadrado: I wouldn’t personally assume the theme of the showre has anything to do with the baby’s room.
I don’t think you should put anything about gift receipts on the invitation though.
Another thing that I saw was that I received a baby shower invite that requested gift cards since they already had so much stuff from their first child. This way, you can make sure that you really get what you want.
