Hi ladies, I thought i’d come to you for advice on my baby shower menu. My little sister (20yr) is throwing it for me and she doesn’t cook. Obviously, I don’t want to cook for my own shower either so…we’re having to order. My sister and I are wondering if this is enough of a menu and if we should have more variety…and she does not want people to be turned off by the fact that she didn’t cook and it’s mostly cold foods. What do you think?
We’ll have 20 people and it is at noon on a sunday, so we don’t need “dinner” type foods. It’s also in mid-july so I don’t want hot, steamy foods either. Another thing to consider is the theme: she tells me it is a floral/summertime “cheerful” theme. So here is the menu idea:
-4 platters of subs from subway:
-and a big dish of cold pasta salad
-and a big salad with the works: cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers, carrots, croutons…different types of dressing options.
Drinks & dessert aren’t our issue but for reference this is what she’s doing: Dessert will be professionally decorated baby shower cupcakes and a huge fruit platter…drinks will be all sorts of summer drinks like ice tea, raspberry lemonade, fruit punch …etc.
