I’ve not been to many, but the most recent one had little “go cups” filled with nail polish and m&ms. I thought that it was cute. (like a starbucks reuseable cold bev container) Also received wine at a “sip and see” shower which was nice.

Truffles.  Basically like favors – anything edible.  Last shower I went to had a Yankee swap type deal and pretty much everyone kept trading for the boxes of candy.  One person seemed really enthused by their candle, but otherwise it was the candy.

I just went to a baby shower on Sunday and won two gifts. One was a Starbucks gift card and the other was bath and body works body wash with a loofah. Someone else won the flower arrangement on the tables. They were assorted flowers in mason jars and the winners picked which one they got to take.

I was in charge of prizes for my SIL’s baby shower and I did:

A pair of Kendra Scott earrings for the diaper raffle (bought NWT from eBay for more than 50% retail)

Manicure in a jar – mason jar, nail polish, fun emory boards, cuticle pusher, and nail clippers

Travel mug with Starbucks gift card

From the showers I’ve been to (bridal and baby) these are the ones I remember:

– Bath and Body works lotions/candles, etc

– mini OPI nail polish (pink or blue) – more of a favour then a game prize

– Wine

– Starbucks coffee mug stuffed with goodies

– Purdy’s Chocolate (I think they’re Canadian so I’m not sure where you are, but basically good quality chocolate).

Didn’t do prizes bc we didn’t have games, but I did do favors. Natural handmade soaps with a “Boy Oh Boy!” wrapper and baby blue bow.

I am hosting a bridal shower brunch this weekend and made up little bags of the coffee flavored M&M’s for the favors and for game prizes I bought a 6 pack of bath bombs on Amazon (they were individually wrapped so I could separate them and it was way cheaper than buying them individually) and will probably also buy candy bars for people who don’t like/can’t use bath bombs.

For my sisters shower (it was forest themed) the prizes were various succulents in cute pots and soaps from a local maker.

For my most recent bridal shower my sister gave away teas and vintage teacups that she had made candles in. They were a hit but you need to know your crowd. Not everyone would have loved those

Ooh I do like the idea of an OPI nail polish favor. That would be nice.

A couple of things about scented items: I am sensitive to scents (many make me dizzy, I can’t be in a store like Bath and Body Works without feeling sick). Also taste in scents varies from person to person, so I feel like picking out scents for someone without knowing them well is hard.

I would appreciate anything other than scented items–edible items (chocolate, wine), gift certificates, coffee/tea related items, nail polish, etc.

I always like getting wine as a prize at a baby shower. The irony of it is just delightful. Gift cards are great, too!
