My daughter started rolling onto her tummy to sleep at about the same age (she is 3 now and still sleeps on her tummy). Once they start rolling tummy sleeping isn’t such a huge issue because they are strong enough to roll back over if they are suffocating.
I was talking to my Mum about this when my daughter started doing it and she said when I was a baby they recommended tummy sleeping.

I know this is going to come out bitchy, and OP, sorry for the very minor threadjack, but my Mom says that too, and it drives me NUTS. They also didn’t advocate seatbelts when I was a child, but that doesn’t mean we’re not better off with the new information. My Mom was always like “You slept on your stomach and you were fine, you worry too much.” Ugh.
OP, my daughter does this at night too now, (she’s 6 mos) and the doctor said at this point she can sleep however she wants but before now, he would have kept turning her on her back when he noticed it.

Oh, I didn’t mean the angel monitor. When my kids were babies I had a camera in their room so I could see if they fllipped over. That’s the type of monitor I was referring to.
